SCHRTTGRENZE
05/08/2026 - CANTINE AM BERGHAIN
DOORS: 7 p.m. | START: 8 p.m.
TICKETS: VVK starts November 6th, 2025 at www.greyzone-tickets.de
uTo mark the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking album “Château Schrottborder”, the band is inviting you to a special concert series. Schrottborder play the entire album on a few selected stages - supplemented by rare B-sides and songs from the 2006 era.
“Château Schrottborder” marked a turning point: from the punk underground to new complexity and clarity. Sparkling guitars and powerful soundscapes met introspective lyrics that seemed more abstract and mature than anything the band had released before.
Produced by Tobias Levin (Tocotronic, Kante) and mixed by Michael Ilbert (Cardigans, Adele, Taylor Swift, The Hives), the record impresses with sparse arrangements, subtle melancholy and lyrics that oscillate between introspective and surreal. The first traces of the band's later engagement with queerness can already be seen - for example in the song "Fotolabor".
An album that doesn't boast loudly, but remains - with a half-life that still stands the test of time today. Expect a trip back to the time when Schrottborder reinvented itself - with songs like "At the same sea", "Like a ghost, just always there", "Alaska" and the long-lost "Zu Staub".
And who knows - you'll definitely hear one or two of the band's current smashers in the encore.
