Screening + film discussion with Sobo Swobodnik, Margarita Breitkreiz and Fabiane Kemmann:
"MUDDI - Twelve Approaches to Aging"
Germany 2025; R: Sobo Swobodnik; With: Erika Maria Swobodnik, Margarita Breitkreiz, Zofia Gierko; German version.
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPJd06PaV44
The director's mother is 90 years old - and is starting to forget herself. Not just yourself, everything else too. She is demented. Only their faith and tireless knitting of all blue socks keep them alive. The director, whose relationship with his mother was very strained throughout his life, approaches the dissolution of his mother's ego in this experimental and essayistic film with the support of Didier Eribon, Simone de Beauvoir, Norbert Elias, Jean Améry and others and, in addition to this very personal story, also tells a universal story about the process of aging, about repression, but also rebellion in dealing with and with aging people.

SYNTAX IN SPACE
Germany 2025; D: Fabiane Kemmann; With: Lutz Förster, Pierre Geagea, Alexandra Aidu; German version with English UT; Running time: 14 min.
In a split second, shortly before his death, SYNTAX IN SPACE's protagonist sees his life before him like a dream. He sits in the backstage of a theater in an abandoned city. Then he sees himself walking towards himself as a child in armor, harness and visor. The moment he sees his face, he surrenders to the encounter. He goes into the space of his inner landscape and his memory; he sees himself as a young man close to a woman. As he wanders further into the abandoned city, he comes across the history of his country. When he asks himself: “Why are you awake?”, he feels her connection to the present and wakes up with the certainty: “Someone has to be awake.”
In SYNTAX IN SPACE, different worlds and their unique languages merge into a whole - through the power of the spoken and signed word, the power of body language in space and the power of film.
