About event
Seosamh Mac Grianna's novel On Your Own Way belongs to a number of key works of Irish-language literature that the Argo publishing house brings to Czech readers in an excellent translation by Radvan Markus. In his autofiction from the genre of absurdist tragicomedy, the author describes the conditions in Dublin in the 1930s, criticizes developments in the anglicized and urbanized post-revolutionary Ireland and tells about his picturesque journey through Wales.
We will talk about the novel and its author with the translator Radvan Markus, Anja Pavienská will tell about her journey to Wales in the footsteps of Seasamh Mac Grianna and there will also be traditional Irish songs performed by Jáchym Hájek, with musical accompaniment Jana and Radvan Markus.
The book will be available for purchase at a discounted price. Free admission.
