Sefeel
in 2021, the reissue of the Seefeel discography at Warp/Rephlex remembered what, the present, the gift able, by the craze of trends and to hear what can be understood at the moment. They started as a guitar band, were associated - correctly - with Shoegaze, but that was also a plague for what came next, when they turned the idea of songs into electronic shadows. Because, after all, always, even in “Quique”, the first more formal album, were a band of matter and less of the comfort of the known. Suddenly, many negasters rediscovered us and reevaluated, another generation found that Mark Clifford and Sarah Peacock's music was timeless to get lost on 1990s labels. That is, the reissues allowed them to be recontextualized and to open the doors to want them back. “Everything Squarred” is a natural evolution of their sound, not what they left in 1990s, or even the year 2010 album, but an abstract evolution of what we would idealize that they sound in 2024. Today's gift is, however, more kind. They created the way for other projects/bands to try for more than three decades and now it is as if they returned to harvest the fruits. Not to go for a celebration, but to show how much the gift is more alive than nostalgia, than we celebrate their 1990s albums, which they create today is relevant, contemporary and opportune. It's still sound, it's still about sound and an insatiable demand for materializing this sound. For those at another time, Shoegaze remains there, otherwise, also timely. Seeing them active, in an A/V show in 2025 it is a privilege. He started his musical studies in 2008 with Professor Armando González, at the Viana do Castelo Professional School of Music. In 2019 he finished his master's degree in music teaching at this same university, with Professor Nuno Soares. He actively participated and as a listener in violin masterclasses with teachers David Dolan, Lyonel Schmit, Alexandra Greffin, Daniel Rowland, Augusto Trindade, Jose Paulo Jesus, Barry Cooper, Zofia Woycicka, Kai Gleusteen and House music with Ryszard Woycicki.
