What does the Metropolitan Plan hide when it is discussed behind closed doors?

For 15 years, hl. m. Prague new territorial plan, the so-called Metropolitan Plan. After years of discussion, it is concluded that citizens will have 10 days to view tens of thousands of pages, as well as representatives of the capital. City of Prague, who are to vote on the plan on 28 May 2026 at the City Council. city of Prague. The plan is so secret that some councilors were not allowed to attend the meeting of the Metropolitan Plan Commission. The absurd thing is that this is a commission that the Council itself set up. city of Prague. In November last year, the continuation of the public discussion and collection of comments took place. Now, however, the citizens and the district have learned that nothing fundamental can be changed about the plan from November last year anyway. That would have to be discussed again. However, in November of last year, no one told the citizens: "Citizens, don't worry, we won't change anything anyway. We have already agreed everything with the developers". At least that would be fair. So it was just a pointless exercise. At the same time, significant criticism was leveled against the plan (see, for example, this article). Criticism is directed against systemic changes, such as insufficient infrastructure, a reduced share of green space, excessive densification, but also against local modifications. E.g. the 12th floor suddenly landed on the sites of two-story civic amenities almost all over Prague, even where the registered territorial studies count for 2 floors (see https://praha.eu/studie-dokoncene)
