Prof. will speak. PhDr. Kateřina Králová, PhD., M.A. from the Institute of International Studies, FSV, Charles University Prague, with the presentation of the book Homecoming – Holocaust Survivors and Greece, 1941 – 46.

The new publication traces the fate of Jews from Greece during and after World War II. It examines their survival in hiding, in combat, in exile and in Nazi camps and their subsequent difficult return to their homeland destroyed by the civil war. The author outlines the difficult decisions they had to make in the face of genocide and illuminates the moral, practical and emotional dilemmas faced by individuals, families and entire communities. Based on extensive archival research and analysis of personal testimonies, it offers new perspectives on the concepts of home, personal resilience and the memory of the Holocaust.
