About event

Sensor.ino is Arduino Workshop designed for producers of electronic music, musicians and musicians, but also for media artists or artists and everything who wants to explore the possibilities of environmental sensors in their creative work process. Participants will be put into the world of analog sensors and will be built by MIDI controller who will connect the physical world with their favorite musical instrument or software.

This one -day workshop focuses on the use of various environmental sensors such as light, temperature, humidity, etc., and how to convert their values to MIDI messages - the most widespread communication protocol between electronic musical instruments. Each participant gets all the necessary materials to build his device (sensors, Arduino, board, etc.) and at the end of the day he will take a functional prototype ready to create music or experiments.

- We recommend taking a musical instrument with MIDI interface, such as a small synthesizer or drum slot (eg Korg Volca or similar- ideally with a built-in speaker) to try your creation immediately in practice.

The workshop will take place in English in Vašulka Kitchen Brno and will be led by sound artist Stefano Manconi.
