About event

ENGLISH VERSION BELOW

Dear IMS people, Tibetan dissidents are coming to us. It is no coincidence that they will arrive at the Hybernská Campus on November 18. – the day after the anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. The guests are: the poet TENZIN TSUNDUE, who has already been arrested 16 times for his protest actions, and who is one of the most important activists for the independence of Tibet, the actress SONAM DOLMA, who studied ballet in the capital Lhasa and now performs in the exile residence of the 14th Dalai Lama, and a singer LOTEN NAMLING, who sings both traditional and his own songs, and whom the 14th Dalai Lama called "The Singer with Voice".
The succession of the 14th Dalai Lama, Tibetan national identity, ecology on the Tibetan Plateau and human rights in contemporary Tibet will be discussed. Let's realize with the Tibetan dissidents why it is worth fighting for freedom and democracy just at the time when we remember the fall of totalitarianism in our country!

The event is supported by AS FSV UK.

Place: Campus Hybernská, room B.1
Time: 18.11. at 4 p.m.
The debate will take place in English.
We present this program in cooperation with the association Czechs Support Tibet and with the support of the US State Department.
