About event
"In the run-up to Christmas, a short distance above the construction site of the former northern platform of the Smíchov railway station, where another of the new gigantic Prague districts is currently growing, two bands drawing from the lovely soundscapes of folk, country and related genres will meet."
Northern platform is a folk band with a variable number of members, instruments and singing voices. In his work, he combines a number of different sources of inspiration, from city fires to aimless wandering through the countryside, but the common denominator remains the good old song. At the concert at MeetFactory, he will christen his long-prepared songbook.
A guitar case in one hand, the other giving a thumbs up on a dead-end road in the middle of nowhere. Wandering shoes on his feet and songs scribbled in a lice-ridden notebook in the back pocket of his jeans. Solitudes are a bit like two old men on hops and the same characters emerging from the mysterious shadow alleys. An honest and guileless mixture of country, blues and rock'n'roll with Czech lyrics. Somoty is familiar music, from which you can feel the legacy of former genres and the effort to resurrect them.
These names often meet in the same locale, host each other, intermingle, form permanent and temporary groups. Gondor Flames, Maggi Gang, Franklin and Fyodor Ket - several rap packs from one common fire - will join together and give a joint set at the MeetFactory concert. Expect voices from the pirate bay of the poor, outsider rave and a new honesty in rap.
The concert is a benefit and all proceeds will be donated to the account of a close family member of one of the performers who found himself in difficult health and financial the situation.
