About event
The October literary salon will be held as part of the Days of the North 2024 festival. This year, the theme of the festival is the periphery, so the debate about the book in translation will take us, among other things, to a remote island near the northern Norwegian town of Bodø. The guest speaker will be the translator from Norwegian, Adéla Ficová, and the talk will be about the novel Sea Cemetery, written by Norwegian author Aslak Nore and published by Host publishing house in 2024. The online partner of the Nordic Literary Salon is the Translators of the North - an association of translators of fiction from the Nordic languages into Czech. The event is part of the Scandinavian House's year-long project Nordic Literature in the Heart of Europe 2024. It takes place with the financial support of the capital city of Prague and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
