About event
One Day Jazz Festival brings to Bratislava the world's top piano player: Shai Maestro – The Guesthouse (Quartet) in Moyzesová Siena
Bratislava – One Day Jazz Festival in cooperation with Mazel Tov Festival brings to Bratislava an exceptional musical evening. On Sunday, April 20, the world-renowned Israeli pianist Shai Maestro will perform in the prestigious Moyzes Hall with his current project The Guesthouse (Quartet).
Shai Maestro returns to Bratislava as part of the spring One Day Jazz Festival with a new concept in which he expands his characteristic acoustic expression with delicate electronic textures. The Guesthouse project represents a shift in his work - intimate, at the same time rich in sound and contemporary. He comes to Bratislava with his energetic NYC quartet, made up of the best jazz players of the current generation.
The piano line is completed by the phenomenal Gadi Lehavi on keyboards and electronics. The rhythm section consists of longtime collaborators – double bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Ofri Nehemya. Together they create a dynamic, sensitive and extremely interconnected sound world.
For fans of modern jazz, this is one of the highlights of the season – the Maestro is known for his ability to combine precise technique with deep narrative lyricism, which is fully developed in the unique acoustics of the Moyzes Hall. • Jorge Roeder – double bass
• Ofri Nehemya – drums
The evening will be opened by the local star – Ľuboš Šrámek Trio featuring Juraj Griglák and Martin Valihora. Renowned Slovak pianist Ľuboš Šrámek together with double bassist Juraj Griglák and drummer Martin Valihora will present modern jazz at the world level.
The event will also include a masterclass (5:00 pm – 7:00 pm) directly in the premises of the Moyzes Hall, which will be led by Ľuboš Šrámek, Juraj Griglák and Martin Valihora. The event is intended for the general public, students and experts, and will offer a unique insight into the backstage of music and professional practice.
The concert starts at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are available through the Ticketlive.sk network.
