About event
Please note: this performance takes place in the Grote Zaal van Shebang on Hettenheuvelweg 8 in Amsterdam.
The fifth Shebang Issue is in line with the Amsterdam 750 program line: "a new card". What does the future of Amsterdam look like? How can we re -shape the city together?
guest curator Charl Landvreugd investigates these questions in Nulgrade, in which artists, chefs, performers, artists and healers create alternative future stories together with the public. This program invites you to reflect, dream and build a city that is ready for the next 750 years.
The public program consists of three presentations on February 21, 7 and 21 March 2025, which take place in our temporary location on Hettheuvelweg 8, Bijlmer.
Rituenie Bos Al: Nulgraad For centuries the basis for communities and social cohesion. Nulgrade Bos is investigating how these practices still connect us today and what role they can play in the city of the future.
This evening is led by Diaspora Wellhouse (The Healers), who show how rituals and cultures transcend generations and cultures with inspiring perspectives. How can these traditions contribute to a more connected society?
An evening full of insights and experience moments in which we rediscover the power of rituals. You can read more information on Shebangamsterdam.nl
About Nulgrade
During Nulgraad Amsterdam an installation with different parts is created. As with the structure of his solo exhibition Ososma, Charl Landvreugd, this time with the help of Yazan Maksoud (The Builder) and from the map of Amsterdam, will create a three-dimensional "Tembe" structure. In this basis, each part is a "pavilion", in this case based on the nine districts of the city. Landvreugd invites various artists and collectives to shape the content of these pavilions. Surrounded by video images from the everydayness of existence, there are three moments when they present their work in the growing Tembe installation. The combination of all these works together outlines a future image of Amsterdam that originated from the new space that is today, the zero degree.
