About event
Come with us on a tour of the Invalidovna housing estate in Karlín, which was created as a model district of new approaches to housing. We will discover the place where ideas about the ideal city of the future were born, and we will tell you which ideas still work today. We will go through different types of prefab houses and structural innovations and show how the urban planners of the time thought of the housing estate as a city within a city. We will take a closer look at the housing estate as a social experiment and see how period interiors were created. We will also focus on neglected art in public space and stop at the Expo hotel, a unique example of Brussels style.
