About event
Full title of the book: Temptation or inner command? The struggles of a Catholic priest in the crossfire of celibacy and love.
László Sikli was the parish priest of the St. László church in Nagyvárad until 2001. His bishop forbade him from priestly service because of his openly acknowledged marital status. In 2011, he moved to Hungary with his family. In his autobiographically inspired novel, he shares his experiences and opinions about celibacy with unprecedented honesty. He draws attention to the senselessness and negative effects of celibacy, which the Catholic Church imposes on its priests as an exclusive condition before ordination.
The author talks to Ágnes Kovács.
The program is part of the MaJel Festival.
