About event
A story about how the animals from the zoo ended up in the streets of the capital, or a collection of interesting facts about bright and clever animals - this is something that definitely belongs in the ZOO. 🦘🦁🐒
Already on Saturday, April 18 at 14:00 🗓️ we are therefore inviting children and parents to the presentation of the books Smart Animals and Open Day at the playground near the ZOO shop. Book illustrator Daniela Olejníková and author Marek Vadas will present unusual animal stories there: Daniela will show and explain how cheerful animal illustrations were created, while Marek will reveal how the idea of releasing animals from the zoo into the streets and means of transport came about. 🚌
There will also be interactive reading with children. It will be taken care of by Miriam Halamičková, who you may know as the Girl without an Ermine. 🎭
Daniela Olejníková is an important Slovak illustrator, also awarded the prestigious Bologna Ragazzi Award. 🏆 Marek Vadas is one of the most translated Slovak authors - his books have been translated into 16 languages so far.
📖 After the successful children's books Útek and Krutá Marta, Open Door Day is the third joint work of this pair.
📖 The book Smart Animals is a new release from the BRAK publishing house. The author of the text is Michael Holland, translated into Slovak by Zuzana Bujačková.
The books Day of Open Doors and Smart Animals were published by the ALMA edition of the BRAK publishing house.
The event was created in cooperation with ZOO Bratislava.
The creation of the event was supported by the Art Support Fund.
🎟️ The ticket to the event is included in the price of admission to the ZOO.
You will be able to purchase books from April 18th in the ZOO shop. 📚📚
