About event

Leonard Cohen was already 33 years old when his first musical album appeared in 1967, the simply “Songs of Leonard Cohen” is called. As a poet, the Canadian has made a name for himself in his home country, as such is quite successful in the right circles. What is pressed on the plate is not an easy meal, the lantern music will be considered to be a blossom for decades. A few listeners already know Suzanne at the time. The folk singer Judy Collins sang Cohen's eternal ballad, homage to a Beatnik beauty, a year before himself. The Sisters of Mercy is about nuns or prostitutes or an interchangeable, great grace for lost men. Long, Marianne, on the other hand, lets the courage again in life and on the album before Teachers pulls the B-side into the most psychedelic abysses. We finally write the Summer of Love and, as is well known, it doesn't work without a trip to winter. Such a collection of difficult songs initially sells mediocre. In Europe, where it is raining more often, much better. What remains is an eternal classic. "Songs of Leonard Cohen" is one of the most stylish and influential music documents of his time and the beginning of Leonard Norman Cohen's world career.

on September 21, 2025, Leonard Cohen would have turned 91. On this occasion, the live band, singer and actor of the artist group Kulturschlund "Songs of Leonard Cohen" perform in full length. For the eighth time, Kulturschlund from Berlin is taking on the work of the mastery of the crudely, who died in 2016 and the turface -soaked voice. An ongoing, changing and developing reflection on an inexhaustible artist. A deep, weld -soaked, stimulating, inspiring evening for all senses.
