SINGULARCH: BAKYTA architekti (Bratislava, SK)
The home scene will be represented by architect Róbert Bakyta from the BAKYTA architekti studio, whose work is known for its clear conceptual framework, emphasis on continuity and precise handwriting. Bakyta has long been dedicated to the architecture of cultural and public buildings that reflect the local context, respect history and at the same time bring new meaning to the environment. In his lecture, he will present an approach based on thoughtful detail, purity of construction and architecture as a tool for cultivating space. SINGULARCH: b+ (Berlin, DE)
Jonas Janke from the Berlin studio b+ will visit us, who will present a committed and research approach to architecture. Their projects often do not arise as realized buildings, but as exhibitions, mappings, texts or spatial interventions. b+ critically analyzes processes such as gentrification, land speculation and privatization of public assets. In cooperation with communities, he tries to find alternative strategies for the management and use of urban space. As they say themselves: "Our proposals are built arguments." Their practice connects architecture with ecological, postcolonial and political discourse.

CLUB: Lütjens Padmanabhan Architekt*innen (CH)
Oliver Lütjens and Thomas Padmanabhan are among the most prominent representatives of the contemporary Swiss architectural scene. The previous generation of architects – especially Herzog & de Meuron and Diener & Diener – were known for the solidity and monolithic expression of buildings in which craft and construction formed a unity. However, Lütjens and Padmanabhan entered the profession at a time of struggle with global market forces that forced architects to build cheaper, faster and with limited creative possibilities. Their answer was the search for inventive solutions for affordable housing with a full but unusual development of expressive means of architecture. In their architecture, they follow the tradition of European modernism, but at the same time they dismantle it and rebuild it - as a set of independent architectural elements that combine into a whole without losing their individuality. Their works radiate insight, joy of creation, love of craft and a special sense of scale and humor. The studio implemented projects on three continents. Recent projects include the award-winning Waldmeisterweg apartment building in Zurich, the Zwhatt sustainable housing project in Regensdorf, the Unterfeld hydroelectric plant, the Göbli residential complex in Baar, and residences for the Swiss ambassadors in Algiers and Bogota. In collaboration with Caruso St John Architects, the pair are currently working on a residential complex in Zurich. They also left their mark as teachers at TU Munich, EPF Lausanne and Harvard Graduate School of Design. They are currently working as visiting professors at ETH Zurich.
