About event
The story of the legendary villa
The whole world admires the beautifully readable and wise novels of the contemporary British writer, who is also exceptionally linked to our city. His novel Glass Room was nominated for the most prestigious British literary award - The Man Booker Prize. It introduces the fate of Liesel and Viktor Landauer, to whom the famous architect builds a modern villa with a huge glass room. The villa will enter the history of architecture as a "villa Tugendhat". The author, however, deals with a masterful way and an ancient human theme of finding happiness. It seems that nothing is going to go to him with two rich husbands endowed with healthy children, but as it happens in life, it is not. Their personal life becomes the main character in that "glass room", the phenomenon of world architecture, which passes European history from the 1930s to the 1990s. "… The glass space became a glass dream, a dream that fits the atmosphere of the new state in which they lived, a state where it was not essential, who is Czech, who is German and who was ruled by democracy and where science and art together sought to bring happiness to everyone." The author of the theater adaptation and director in one person will be Stanislav Moša.
