Släpstick / De Oosterpoort

The five musical all-rounders of Släpstick created an international sensation with their theater shows 'Släpstick' and 'The Roaring Twenties'. Sold out halls, extremely enthusiastic reviews and a shower of prizes were their part. Are you ready for their next feat? Great, because 'Schërzo' is a idiosyncratic, dazzling and hilarious take on classical music, in which the group takes you through the masterpieces of Rossini, Brahms, Saint-Saëns, Gershwin and other illustrious composers. The quintet plays the great classics in an inimitable way and honors comedy heroes such as Victor Borge, Mini & Maxi, Danny Kaye and Charlie Chaplin. The musical term 'scherzo' (Italian for joke) stands for for a short, lively piece, but Släpstick stretches the definition even further. A yodelling Schubert, a ventriloquism battle with Beethoven, a speed devil on the double bass, 21 masterpieces in 1 minute: you can expect this and more when you enter the limitless universe of Släpstick.
