About event
Bubeneč Villas with Unknown Prague.
Participants will see the distinctive villas of famous architects, artists and leading cultural figures of their time, each of which reflects the personality of its author. In the villa where army general Pellé lived, they will be surprised by a gallery and a cafe with a landscaped garden. Among other things, they will see the first and second villas of the sculptor Stanislav Sucharda - the author of the monument to František Palacký, on the square of the same name, and will learn why one villa was not enough for Suchard, even though they are only a short distance apart... Dušan Jurkovič became famous for his Hermitages and also for the construction of the Luhačovice spa, but there is also one of his buildings in Bubenč - his folk-style villa, which was built here by Dr. Náhlovský, and can be recognized at first glance among the others. The walk will also focus on the context of modern construction, especially around Villa Bianca. As a bonus, participants will see several embassies along the way and see the villa where Alfons Mucha lived and where he had fun with his friends. The walk will end at an inconspicuous villa for which the interiors were designed by the famous Adolf Loos.
