On the occasion of the monuments of the victims of Sho and Hero-Yom Ha-Shoa in Ha-Gvur and the anniversary of the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto, Norwegian singer Bente Khan, one of the leading personalities of the European Jewish cultural scene, will perform in the Maisel Synagogue. The artist will introduce you to the Yiddish songs that reflect the rich music heritage of pre -war Jewish communities. Bente Kahan will be accompanied by Adam through the double bass and Mateusz Rybicki (bass clarinet).

This Jewish actress, musician, director and playwright born in Norway studied acting in Tel Aviv and New York and since 1981 she has been a concert and theater artist since 1981. She started her career at the Israeli National Theater of Habima and later continued on the stages in Oslo, including the Norwegian National Theater "Nationaltheatret". At the beginning of her career she performed with songs in Yiddish and in 1986 began to perform in her own monodrames, which she wrote together with Norwegian director Ellen Foyn Bruun. In 1990, it founded the production company "Teater Dybbuk - Oslo", which aims to present European Jewish culture and history through theater and music.
Bente has been performing on the international scene with musicians from Norway, Poland, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands, using archival materials and own texts and compositions. education. In the following year, she founded the Bente Kahan Foundation, which takes care of the cultural center and the restoration of the synagogue. As the director of the Wrocław Center for Jewish Culture and Education, she prepared exhibitions and concerts and theater plays, many of which she wrote and directed and in which Polish artists performed. Today, the historical synagogue in Wroclaw serves as a prestigious cultural place for events aimed at tolerance and diversity, such as the annual "days of mutual respect", which Bente initiated at the foundation of the center.
