About event
We invite you to the ceremonial christening of the new release of the Real Music House publishing house.
Milan Adamčiak's work oscillates freely in artistic worlds. Specific poetry from the years 1964 – 1972, collected by Michal Murin in the Milan Adamčiak / ARCHÍV III collection, which became the model for the Constellations / Permutations project. For Adamčiak, the word is not only written, but also sound and visual. It is given musical form by Eva Šušková, who is inspired by Adamčiak's graphic scores and the sound aesthetics of Meredith Monk. The album contains 18 original compositions for vocal ensemble (Eva Šušková, Dominika Hanko, Katarína Šarkőzy, Sylvia Urdová, Júlia Urdova, Zuzana Marczelová and Lenka Poláková) and cello (Roman "Hary" Harvan). The CD is released under the label Real Music House. The duo Robert Pospiš & Martin Sillay are behind the music production of the recording, sound and mastering. creation. I deeply respect the craft of composers and I am generally rather skeptical of the compositional attempts of musicians-performers. Although I have been working in an environment in which the author's contribution is a natural part for several years, this was still something quite new. I defend it to myself by saying that I understand the human voice well, I have been working on improvisation for years and ensemble, or choral singing is part of my profile. But the defense goes sideways. I'm putting out something that has been going on by itself. For my part, I submit clean work. Built on years of research, personal experience and friendships," Eva Šušková describes the creation of the news. The recording creates a fine balance between free and recorded, free and controlled. We hear a vocal scrum in symbiosis with the sound of a cello, which brings Milan Adamčiak to life - among other things, in a personalized musical cryptogram - A-D-A-C-A. "Eva and I have been working together since 2015, more precisely since the Secret Voice album. Since then we have been building an intense artistic bond. Under the new Constellations / Permutations, we are signed as Real Music House as part of a complete sound production. The entire album was recorded in our studio. It is truly exceptional The connection Šušková / Adamčiak works with uncompromising sovereignty Harvan on the cello," says publisher Robert Pospiš about the work. The realization of the recording was supported from public resources by the Art Support Fund. The album was also supported by SOZA and the Music Fund. The author of the cover photo is Dorota Sadovská, the graphic design of the booklet was undertaken by Martin Janoško.
Impulse from the Slovak National Gallery
"I met Milan for the first time in person at the Pohoda Festival, in in 2014, when I spontaneously organized a musical performance of his graphic score together with my students from the Faculty of Education as part of the opening of artworks created during the festival. It was joyful, even euphoric. Since then, we often talked on the phone, talked for a long time, argued. His sudden departure left something unsaid in me and I have to say it was very personal. It took me a long time to patch this hole. The impetus came from the Slovak National Gallery, where I was approached to create a musical project on the occasion of the opening of the newly renovated SNG premises. That's when Milan's poetry came to mind, I had a lot of inspiration and ideas in my head, but only at this moment did the spontaneous and beautiful work of setting his texts to music begin," concludes Eva Šušková with a personal memory. The recording Šušková / Adamčiak: Constellations / Permutations is published by Real Music House, which will celebrate its 15th anniversary next year. Eva Šušková's studio recordings have a strong place in the label's catalog.
