About event
🔥 9.12. the Slovak cultural torch will light Žilina! Join the relay protest, carry the light with us in dark times when in culture we must stick together 🔥.
We are horrified by the incompetent but even more insidious practices of self-proclaimed individuals with the sole purpose of destroying. We will resolutely carry the torch in Žilina as a united cultural community of professional representatives, actors, volunteers, supporters... which has the opposite long-term intention - to CREATE.
We have been taking care of culture for years, you know us, we meet regularly at various programs and you know that we do not shy away from our human or professional criteria. We will meet in a good mood and with the torch at these places (at times with possible slight deviations due to the transfer) and we will be happy if you also come, culture concerns us all 💓:
10:00- 11:00 Regional Library
11:00-12:00 Artforum
12:00-13:00 Rosenfeldov Palace
13:00-14:00 Municipal Theater
14:00-15:00 Považská Gallery
15:00-16:00 Balustrada
16:00-17:00 Puppet Theater
17:00-18:00 New Synagogue
❗We jointly demand:
➤ Professional and competent management of the department of culture and stopping the purposeful destruction of the sector by its current management
➤ Immediate stopping of ideologically motivated censorship with economic impacts, which are implemented through a department-controlled grant support system
➤ Immediate financial stabilization of the sector with an emphasis on improving the evaluation and working conditions of people working across the spectrum of established and non-established organizations
