About event
Civic protest activity The Slovak Cultural Torch in Rimavská Saturday will start at 9:00 a.m. on Hlavní náměstí with a march with a lit torch as a symbol that culture throughout Slovakia holds together. It is also a protest that articulates the demands of the Cultural Strike.
After the march, the torch will stop at the Main Square, where we will talk with you about the current problems of culture in Slovakia. At the same time, you will be able to write your wish for culture in the travel chronicle in 2025. If we are blessed with snow, together we will also create a snow object as a legacy for our culture.
We will end the first phase of the Slovak Cultural Torch at 11:00 in the center of independent culture CITADELA, where we will record a joint statement. The second phase, with the same program, will take place between 16:30 and 17:30, again on the Main Square. We will end the civil protest with a friendly sit-in in the CITADEL.
