About event
Many of us automatically associate the year 1526 with the Battle of Mohács and its negative consequences – the disintegration of the Kingdom of Hungary, the occupation of a large part of the country by the Ottomans, but also the incorporation of the rest of the country into the Habsburg state. The changes that the new Central European reality brought to the current country are much less reflected. It changed not only as a result of the progressing "Little Ice Age", but also the adaptation of society to life in constant fear of military incursions. Thanks to written, iconographic and archaeological sources, today we can at least partially recognize these changes. Their brief presentation will be the topic of a lecture by archaeologist and historian Mgr. et Mgr. Martin Neumann, PhD. from the Historical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, v.v.i., who in his work connects various methods of archaeological and archival research with a focus primarily on the modern period.
