Notion for Freelancers ans small Co-ops

In this workshop, we will learn the basics of Notion and apply them to common use-cases for freelancers and small organizations: tracking clients, handling tasks and chores, creating one-pagers, and managing your daily workload.

Notion is a powerful software sitting at the intersection of productivity, knowledge management, publishing, and automation. For beginners, it is an alternative to Google Docs, Trello, Confluence, Jira, and other similar tools. For advanced practitioners, it becomes a tool to build the custom software you need, the way you want it, without writing code.

We will learn by doing: for every concept explored, you will have a chance to try out live on Notion and build your own customized system during the workshop.

1. Basics: Pages, Blocks
2. Navigation
3. Databases: Properties, Views, Templates, Relations
4. Common Patterns: Synced Navigation Menu, Chore list, Self-filtered views in templates
5. Advanced Features Overview: Automation, Buttons, Formulas, Layouts, Dependencies and sub-items, Forms

• Introduction and warm-up (15 minutes)

• Exercise: build your one-pager (25 minutes)
• Short break (5 minutes)
• Theory and practice: databases (60 minutes)
• Build a client tracker
• Build a task tracker
• Break (15 minutes)
• Theory: Patterns (30 minutes)
• Exercise: schedule chores in your task list (5 minutes)
• Exercise: filter tasks by client (10 minutes)

• Advanced Features overview (30 minutes)
