About event
The lecture focuses on the first stages of the Holocaust from the perspective of everyday life of ordinary people. It examines how the gradual adoption of anti-Jewish laws affected the position of the Jewish population and changed relations in society.
He also pays attention to the first transports, which represented a fundamental turning point in the destinies of thousands of people, and analyzes the reactions of the non-Jewish population - from indifference, through adaptation, to expressions of solidarity or resistance.
Part of the lecture is also a discussion about the possibilities of emigration and the obstacles faced by those who tried to escape the growing persecution.
The goal is to approach historical events through specific human experiences and to point out the moral dilemmas that individuals faced during the period of gradual restriction of freedom.
The lecture combined with the discussion was prepared for you by Bratislava wanders - Peter Fiala in cooperation with OZ Vrba Wetzler Memorial.
