About event
Table Mountain String Band is a four-member group from Prague playing brisk and energetic
American folk songs, which stylistically belong to the so-called old-time genre. She chose the name after
a place in Northern California, near which clawhammer banjoist Nick
Jennings grew up, who heads the band together with his wife, a native of Prague, Eliška
Jennings, who plays guitar. Their linked vocals and solid rhythm form the core of their
special sound.
Ludvík Jacek from Prague and the surrounding area completes them with his violin, who has developed his own exquisite style over the years of playing across
a range of different genres. Double bassist Petr Pijáček with
Moravian roots completes the band's sound with his soulful playing and dancing
bass lines that hold everything together.

Table Mountain String Band is a four-piece group based out of Prague, Czech Republic,
playing high-energy, driving old-time American fiddle tunes and folk songs. The band
gets its name from an area not far from where Nick Jennings grew up, in Northern
California. He fronts the group, playing clawhammer banjo, along with his wife Eliška
Jennings, a native of Prague, on guitar. The couple's intertwined vocal harmonies and
strong rhythms lay the groundwork for the band.
They are joined by Ludvík Jacek, also from Prague, who has played fiddle from an early
age, developing a versatile and enchanting sound. Hailing from Moravia, Petr Pijáček
brings a solid foundation in Moravian folklore to the group. His dancing bass lines fill
out their sound and hold it all together.
