BANDS
- Trio Baftig
What started as a musical experiment in the summer of '22 has now officially grown into a folk musician setup. Duo Baftig/Trio Baftig plays very danceable tunes on acoustic guitar (DADGAD), accordion and violin. Manon, Robin and Sebastiaan share a passion for folk dance and folk music and decided to join forces from here. The duo/trio plays a surprising mix of Irish and Scandinavian tunes, but also their own explosive compositions. From melancholic to powerful, the following applies to everything: as long as it is cool!

- PFM!
PFM! is an energetic balfolk band from the west of the country. The band was formed in 2020 and consists of Frans on clarinet, Maurits on violin and Pieter on guitar (and a little bit of music). They mainly play their own compositions. The trio plays, among other things, straightforward cercles, swinging scottishes and angular hanterdros, but also soft, creamy mazurkas and a tranquil gavotte de 'l Aven. The focus is on the most common balfolk dances so that all balfolkies can stay on the dance floor for the entire performance.

All three band members are enthusiastic dancers, but also like to be on stage, that's why they say: book us !

LOCATION
Mezrab is very fond of Balfolk and invites us to come and dance every month. On other days you can mainly go to the Mezrab for storytelling. The café serves as a source of inspiration for many theaters, centers, museums and festivals to also program storytelling. Mezrab regularly programs storytelling evenings several times a week. On the other evenings, storytelling is combined with other art disciplines (dance, visual arts, poetry, etc.) and a world music program.

There is room for about 100 dancers.
