The production Socialism with a warm face talks about how queer people lived under socialism. It takes place in the 1980s during normalization.
A young man comes to the capital with the desire to be cured of homosexuality. On the street, he meets a strange group that is different and does not fit into the gray average of socialism. It is about Alex, who has a secret lover, Zlatica and Básnik, who live together. He gradually becomes familiar with the places and ways in which these invisible and non-existent people survive.
Will the socialist healthcare system cure him? Will traditional marriages break down? Will the ŠTB catch him in its pink list trap?
👥 The production was created on the basis of interviews of memorialists from the LGBTI community, for which we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
