About event
Saxophonist and composer Marcel Bárta and keyboardist, pianist and composer Jakub Zitko have been music companions for over twenty years in the experimental jazz band Muff and many other projects. Now they will both perform alongside the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. For a concert opportunity, Jakub Zitko surrounded himself with great instrumentalists and invited two distinctive artists of contemporary music scene Aneta Langer and Dorota Barová as his rare guests. Music combines postmodern jazz, contemporary classical music, alternative and very novel procedures and music textures. Marcel Bárta uses more elements of Aleatorics and controlled improvisation in the form of sound-colored areas. Jakub Zitko, in turn, electronic sounds and samples, which organically completes the atmosphere of music, or are directly bearer of the component of the composition. Both composers are also peculiar melodes, authors of distinctive and atypical melodic themes, as well as dense harmonies that deviate from common categories of jazz or classical music. In addition, their work carries many different emotions, energy, melancholy, psychedelia and, last but not least, humor. All this was reflected in their compositions for Muff, Nuo, Vertigo and other groupings. All these ingredients are now transferred to the instrumentation of a large symphony orchestra and promise truly original music, composed and improvised, with many surprising twists of dynamics, tectonics and forms. 550 CZK
