Soft Spot

Soft Spot is an experimental physical performance that was born from the collaboration of award-winning Slovak dancers Martina Hajdyla and Sonia Ferienčíková with the renowned Hungarian choreographer Adrienn Hód. Together they explore the relationship between the physical body, the personality of the performer and the attached meaning.

What do we actually perceive of the human body when we look at it? What do the face, gesture, posture and movement of the body tell us? How do we communicate with others through the body?

Soft Spot plays with blurring the attributes attributed to humans. He asks what makes a person truly human from them. It looks for a kind of hidden, "extremely sensitive place" inside each person.

Soft Spot is a theatrical ritual that invites the audience into a space where there is no difference between the stage and the auditorium. The lighting atmospheres together with the musical component will tear the audience out of reality and immerse them in timelessness, in which the contours of all present reality are blurred.

The focal point of Soft Spot is the captivating camouflage. A mask that transforms a person into another being. And above all, a register of unpredictable movements of many qualities, which unifies the unreliable impression that they come from somewhere else, because they refuse to reveal the femininity and identity of both dancers.
