About event
Charitable ŠOK Open closes its first dozen! In a smaller format, but with an even greater desire to help.
It will be held unusually on Sunday, July 12, 2026 and will feature six teams. These are again grabbed in a gentlemanly atmosphere, while the entire proceeds go to charity. This year, the hockey players will help the Kudlačák family, whose son Ondrej is confined to a wheelchair for a long time after a motorcycle accident.
"The tournament is a summer classic, without which it would not be the same. Maybe this year the starting field will be a bit narrower, but we are convinced that the desire to help and play well remains the same," says Jozef Toman for the organizers.
Six teams will be divided into two groups, the best two of which advance to the semi-finals. The last teams in the group finish the tournament. The semi-finals will be followed by the final match, from which the new holder of the ŠOK Open cup will emerge.
"This year, the search for a suitable date was really difficult. Matching the personal calendars of the organizers and avoiding collisions with other tournaments seemed like an almost impossible challenge. But we are glad that we finally found a compromise that will allow the ŠOK Open to continue and write its twelfth chapter," he says for the organizers from of the civic association ŠOK – Šport Osveta Kultúra Ján Ivančík.
There will also be an accompanying sports program, sound system and commentary throughout the tournament, drinking regime for participants and small refreshments, or a live results service on TOPhbl.sk.
The entry fee is 60 euros, the game will be played using the 3+1 system. The playing time is 2*10 minutes, in the playoffs 2*12 minutes. The final will be timed.
