Eisenwerda, 1982. Jo is fourteen, is about to take the youth consecration, the terribly stubborn skirt is already available. Then the photo of a young Londoner falls into her hands that she elects: leather jacket, torn tights, confused hairstyle. Suddenly everything makes sense for Jo. It turns the hair bright green - from now on it is punk. She founds a band, falls in love with rat, which plays drums rapidly, and spends the nights pogo dancing in the pressing shed. But the authorities feel threatened by this freedom. Jo will soon be targeted by the Stasi. This is followed by harassment, arrests, violence ... with snotty sound and powerful pictures, "Mauerpogo" tells of friendship, anger and rebellion. A story with the force of a punk chord.
Sonja M. Schultz, born in 1975, grew up in Schleswig-Holstein, studied theater science and art history in Berlin, also works on documentary and short film projects again, as a (film) journalist, in political education and steps with spoken word and songs. In 2019 her debut novel »Hundesohn« was published by Kampa Verlag. "Mauerpogo" is her second novel.
