Sounds of Chopin & Bach

Pianist Lestari Scholtes and cellist Lidy Blijdorp take you to the world of Frédéric Chopin and one of his greatest sources of inspiration, Johann Sebastian Bach. Lestari and Lidy play gems from the repertoire of Chopin and Bach and end the concert together with perhaps one of the most beautiful works for cello and piano.

Chopin almost always started studying Bach's work on the piano. Bach's music had a huge revival in the time of Chopin, thanks in part to the efforts of his colleague Mendelssohn. Chopin became fascinated by this composer, and therefore also wrote his 24 preludes, inspired by the Bach's Fameous Preludes and Fugas.
