There is no time for work. There is no time without work that examines the conditions of art and its value for society, the company of Jindřich Chalupecký, in cooperation with artists Matěj Pavlík and Medard Zeman, invites you to a discussion devoted to protest events in culture and art.
In a wider historical perspective, we will talk about protest actions of art and cultural workers and workers against underfunding culture and art, legislative non -rending the status of the artist/artist and precarring work in art. Specifically, we will touch, for example, fair remuneration and working conditions, the relationship of artistic institutions to the artist*artist or invisible work, which is part of the work of a work of art.
In response to the currently relay protest of the art and cultural communities in Slovakia against changes in culture and art for ministers Martina Šimkovičová will also affect the topic of censorship and other practices associated with political control of art.
We also want to critically think about the form of protest itself. What forms of protest and organization have proven to be successful in the past? What are their limits, or what forms of collective organization are effective. Does it make sense to create a wider coalition with working from other artistic disciplines and sectors, or would resignation at a specific position of artistic profession be counterproductive?
come to share your experience and contribute to finding paths for better future art and culture!
