About event

Oscar Wilde is one of the most prominent figures of Western literature - he is renowned for a brilliant language, a sharp wit and the ability of penetrating social criticism. His work, including essays and theater games, still fascinates with his elegance, irony and timelessness. This experience - even the way in which it reflected in his later life and work - made him not only a literary but also a cultural icon. Wilde's story strongly resonated outside England; For example, in the Czech environment, where it was publicly defended by writer Jiří Karásek of Lvovice, one of the pioneers of the domestic Queer culture. narratives.
