Souvrat + Petr Onufer will perform at the Unijazz Reading Room on 27/5.
Souvrat
Originally a purely Czechoslovak, purist song-and-singer band, which once bought an epic guitar instead of a proper žranika with money for a wedding and became electrified.
In their beloved hood, they will play from the wooden album Dva konce (2020), but also songs that are purring, secret, forgotten, persistent, theatrical, resuscitated, in short, some selected pieces from countless compositions that have never been recorded.
And since Souvrat jumped to Manhattan between 2022 and 2024, he will also present something from the American stage, the New York Tapes record, the release of which is literally on the way, and which, with the help of God and yours (Donio), will be released soon on the most beautiful carrier in the world.

Frontman of the Žižkov band T.G.P. Petr Onufer will perform with an acoustic guitar and, with the moral and musical support of guitarist Tomáš Pácalt, will sing his lively songs with English lyrics about love, death, gin, summer walks in distant cities, a winter journey home, a flood in the center of Prague or a Texas ghost town.
As two reviewers memorably put it, the songs in question "mix classic pure American rock songwriting with post-punk musical nebulae" and are "somewhere on the border between country, wooden post punk and good old big beat, in short, as if Nick Cave had traded Berlin for Prague 3 and Blixa for Jarda Švece".
