Chamber music works by Johann Gottlieb Janitsch, Christoph Schaffrath and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach

Johann Gottlieb Janitsch, a court musician of Frederick II, liked to meet with his colleagues from the Prussian court orchestra on Fridays to play music outside of court etiquette. People arranged to meet in private apartments, invited good friends and played sophisticated chamber music to their hearts' content. The importance of these “Friday academies” cannot be overestimated, as the foundation stone for public concert series in Berlin was laid here. With Xenia Löffler, one of the leading baroque oboists is at the head of a small, fine ensemble that will present this early Berlin concert culture to the SPAM audience.
