Sacred vocal works by Johann Eccard, Johann Crüger, Johann Stobaeus and others

"Prussian Festlieder" is the name of a print with works by the Berlin cathedral cantor Johann Eccard. It contains wonderful vocal works that come from Eccard's church music practice in Berlin and previously in Königsberg. In conjunction with the later songs of the Nikolaikantor Johann Crüger, these works provide a deep insight into the Reformation church music of the up-and-coming metropolis of Berlin. Cantus Thuringia, a vocal ensemble based in Berlin, has specialized in this repertoire in recent years.
