Late Shift x Gay Museum
Event by: Gropius Bau
Location: Gropius Bau, Niederkirchnerstraße 7, Berlin - Bezirk Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
About event
With Bishop Black, Hugo Tepest, Perel, River Roux and Ulrike Ottinger
The first edition of Spätschicht in the new year opens up a space for a queer gaze regime in which society's demands are countered by a pleasurable exploration of queer desires, sexualities and bodies.
We are starting the year with a new edition of our Late Shift event series, which we are designing together with the Gay Museum. The focus is on the body as a place of negotiation, which militantly refuses the norms of society, relates to queer ancestors or opens up a space of experience of solidarity in a gesture of vulnerability. You can also look forward to a free live program in this edition: a screening followed by a discussion, a book presentation and three performances. “Late Shift x Gay Museum” is co-curated by Collin Klugbauer.
7:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. | Screening | Freak Orlando
7:00-9:00 p.m. | Performance | Perel
20:00-21:00 | Reading and conversation | Are penises real? | Hugo Tepest and Lee Everett Thieler
21:00–21:20 | Performance | Transsexual at Home | River Roux
21:30-21:50 | Performance | Bishop Black
“Late Shift – Live Program at the Gropius Bau” is a monthly, free event series with an interdisciplinary program that ranges from discussions, book presentations and film screenings to concerts and DJ sets. Sometimes it will be loud, sometimes quiet, experimental and can also clash - a space to discover new things and change perspectives.
