About event
FROM SCRATCH
Do we have everything under control?
How did it all start? Out of nowhere. At first we thought we'd give it a go, smooth out minor balance deviations and missteps, traces of malfunctions, bad synchronization. We will simply pretend that we have everything under control, movements, tones, rays of light, the floor, the ceiling, our own center of gravity, the hand held. We made a mistake somewhere. Maybe we weren't to blame for her at all, but we can no longer ignore her and pretend that everything is perfect. But what actually happened? And why are we here? We play everything from scratch.
A dance performance that unfolds as a stream of subtly escalating images. From banal missteps and everyday meanness to the need for mutual closeness. Two dancers meet in a theatrical and existential provisional. The functional world is crumbling under your hands. What is left in the end when all else fails? What remains of our grotesque efforts to lean on each other? Only dancing shadows.
The co-producer of the production is Studio ALTA from Prague, the partner is DIOD theater from Jihlava. The project was created in cooperation with the AREAL space in Bucharest and the Brno cultural factory Industra. The creation was financially supported by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, the Capital City of Prague and the European Union through the Erasmus+ program and the National Recovery Plan. Thanks to Žaneta Musilová, Kateřina Jabůrková and Lucia Kašiarová.
