meeting with artist Markéta Garai and screening of documentation for the performance I am not this body (2016) with samples of other works based on her artistic research in the erotic industry. Take advantage of the opportunity to see unpublished works and discuss them together.
"For my artistic research, I created a performative persona in 2013 that entered clubs and venues according to a predetermined schedule, and later used it in In this way, my point of view differs from the art that responds to my authentic life experience, because in my case it was from the beginning the creation of a work of art, the aim of which is to find a way to develop and transform the theme of sexwork in visual arts. I have been devoting myself to the theoretical summation only in recent years, when I am learning to formulate my knowledge correctly outside of the PhD. One of my goals is destigmatization, education in the form of conveying real information from this environment, showing new perspectives of cooperation between artists and sex workers (BEZ-PÉČÍ, 2023), sex workers pride, and contributing to the development of a new neo-feminist approach. "
Artist talk is part of the educational program for the exhibition Who cares? organized by cosmic orgasmic z.s. and which can be seen until December 13 in the Distillery space at Pekařské 76.
