18. The annual MDA RIDE will take place on June 6, 2026 at Wenceslas Square
The event is held under the auspices of the Mayor city of Prague doc. MD Bohuslava Svobody, CSc.
MDA RIDE is a motorcycle charity event and a great day of solidarity. Part of the program is a joint ride of riders on motorcycles of all brands, sizes and displacements. People with muscular dystrophy also take part in this exceptional event, in the cars of friendly clubs and partners, such as the Ford Mustang Riders Club or 1st Veteran US Car Club Prague.
The event is intended for motorcycle fans, people with muscular dystrophy and their families from the Muscular Dystrophy Association of the Czech Republic, but also from several other organizations that bring together people with this disease. MDA RIDE pays special attention to children, who look forward to meeting their "biker buddies" all year round.
This large charity event is popular both among the residents of Prague 1 and the general public.
All-day program for young and old
A whole-day program takes place on stage, during which well-known Czech bands alternate and a number of popular artists, actors and athletes also perform. A Czech group of Star Wars devotees will also have their stand, who are always a big magnet for children and adults in their costumes.
The band Strahov and Petr Vondráček with his band Lokomotiva are regular participants. The international band Free Ride will also play and the blues band Charlie Slavík Revue will close the event.
Partners offer products or services at their presentation stands for a voluntary contribution to the cash registers. These are sealed at the office of the Municipal Council of Prague 1, and after the event, the proceeds are also calculated here, which is added to the total result of the public collection.
Traditional sleepy ride through Prague
The traditional climax of the whole event is a sleepy ride through Prague, which is secured by the Police of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the motorcycle club LE MC Guardians.
The event lasts almost the whole day, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The result will be announced immediately on the website www.mdaride.cz and also on Facebook. According to the requirements of the target organizations, the entire selected amount is distributed on the basis of personal contracts in such a way as to help where it is most needed.
Muscular dystrophy is a disease that knows no mercy
Muscular dystrophy is a group of genetic muscle diseases that weaken the musculoskeletal system and significantly limit movement. These diseases are characterized by progressive wasting, loss of muscle mass and destruction of muscle cells.
The most severe form is Duchenne muscular dystrophy, which occurs in approximately one in 5,000 boys born. From the age of two, problems with walking begin and after a while it is necessary to sit in a wheelchair. The disease gradually weakens the muscles of the limbs and trunk.
During adolescence, the respiratory muscles are also affected, and the affected person thus needs a supportive breathing apparatus to survive. Later, the disease also affects the heart muscles. In many cases, boys only live to be twenty years old.
Who or what is MDA RIDE?
MDA RIDE z. s. organizes the largest motorcycle charity event in the Czech Republic and a public fundraiser, the proceeds of which go to individual help for people with muscular dystrophy.
The total proceeds go to the organizations Muscular Dystrophy of the Czech Republic, Parent Project, End Duchenne, S-máci and SmartHelp.
During its seventeen years of operation, the MDA RIDE association has already donated more than CZK 13,000,000 to individual help for people affected by muscular dystrophy and thus helped finance more than 650 projects.
