About event
Divadlo Na Peróne invites you to the premiere of the work in progress performance by our resident artist Stanislava Spišiaková, who rehearsed with us for several weeks under the direction of Jana Wernerová and Petr Kočiš Jr.
The production, loosely inspired by the tale of the red shoes, reveals the inner world of a woman who balances between motherhood, the desire for freedom and inherited traumas. Fragments of a fairy tale, memories and inner monologues intertwine with the voices of society, family and the system that determine how a woman should look, behave and love. Red shoes become a symbol of defiance, desire for life and self-destruction. The heroine dances on the edge between love and dependence, between care and violence, between the need to be accepted and the need not to disappear into herself. An intimate performative statement about femininity, shame, the legacy of pain and what happens when a person silences their own voice for too long.
Director and production: Jana Wernerová and Peter Kočiš Jr.
Played by: Stanislava Spišiaková
👀 Stanislava Spišiaková graduated from the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, majoring in original acting and psychosomatics. She is the author of the chanson songs Ja sa hojím, Chrepiny váz and Čierna vrana, which represent her author's first works. She returned to her native Košice for the residency with a monodrama, which was created as her final graduation thesis. However, the residence is not her first contact with the Na Perón Theatre. In 2023, it was part of the performance Home is Warm, with which we represented Slovakia at the Prague Quadrennial.
