37. the public lecture series Art yesterday and today is dedicated to maps and their various aspects. It will begin with a lecture by Jindřich Prach from the Center for Theoretical Studies, a joint workplace of Charles University and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic; Nature and Landscape Protection Agency of the Czech Republic - Administration of the PLA Český karst "Old maps in the new era".
What will the lecture introduce you to? "I will try to use a few examples from a naturalist's point of view to show how old maps and aerial photographs help us see and understand changes in the landscape, plan local interventions in practical nature conservation, look for places for research and just wander through the landscape. We can walk through and comment on your proposed locations on web map applications.”
