Both performances are part of the unfinished Russian trilogy by director Jan Horák. The old woman has been on the repertoire of the theater since last season, the production was to kill a person on October 29, 2024. For the time being, almost identical team of people is working on the trilogy - Lucie Sedláková created scenography, Václav Hruška is the author of light design. We meet Natalia Řehořová. The old woman is in the spirit of unrealistic poetics, on the other hand, the creators refer to the darkened world of Russian fairy tales.
In Russia across centuries. The short text, although one of the author's longest, is the starting point of the complex phenomenon of a "Russian man". A man who lives in the illusion of freedom, intimacy, artistic self -expression and dignified life. A metaphor of evil is a dead old woman, which despite the series of more or less absurd attempts, cannot be removed. But who or rather what is the unsolvable problem, is it the external force or your own imagination that is in a non -free society of fatal danger? with a fatal paralysis that only leads to destruction. The production of the old woman is a mockery of the monstrous Soviet power and offers a way to at least understand the crushed and tragic Russian soul. Naturally, the one that builds on resistance to freedom, disrespect for human life, aggression, even in its worst war form. The fate of Danil Charms was tragic, the cause of his death was his talent and a free spirit. The old woman is the first work of free trilogy focused on Russia, his past, present, culture and our society.

To kill a man 🌞
The upcoming second part of the "Russian" trilogy directed by Jan Horák is freely inspired by the red ride of Russian author Isaace Babel, which he followed in his screenplay Current Slovak writer Michal Hvorecký. Babel's text encourages reflection of historical experience. After a hundred years, Russian aggression to democratic values is commemorated as a tragic Deja Vu. The Russian export of the revolution in the 1920s managed to reflect. Unfortunately, the Soviet revenge in Ukraine in the form of inhuman famine is no longer. The current Russian aggression towards Ukraine, or against any form of democratic values and their spread near Russia, is a challenge to wider thought. It is necessary to ask why history repeats this unfortunate, why humanity in Russia is a residual unit, whether there is a possibility of changing in Russian society, in what reality people live in Russia who are in opposition. Why Western values are scared by the Russian dictatorial regime. How to resist the targeted disinformation division of society. How can it relativize at first glance clear historical experience. These questions are infinity.
