One of the most important things, What makes music “exciting” is the consistent, concentrated adherence to the rhythm. That the Slovenian pianist - confident in himself and his technical competence - JURE GORUČAN is capable of doing this, as he demonstrated two years ago, particularly with Rachmaninov; But it is also due to the fact that his first training was in percussion. In this respect, it makes sense that in this concert he will be able to master some masterpieces of solo piano classical music composed with superficial rhythm.
The short Sonata K175 in minor played at the beginning > from around 1739 of the baroque Harpsichordist and Bach influencer GIUSEPPE DOMENICO SCARLATTI can be seen this way with her flowing, repetitive elements. Added to this is the technical sophistication that in places up to 7 notes have to be played at the same time.
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN's quarter-hour Sonata N27, Op.90 from 1815 also demands that its interpreter, in the two movements in E minor and E major with the composer's commanded “feelings,” “With Liveliness and definitely with feeling and expression”, as well as “Not too quickly and very singable” and a precise understanding of the tonal language. No less the approximately twenty-minute “Wanderer Fantasy” < /em>by FRANZ SCHUBERT from 1822 in four movements that merge into one another, where a single motif from Schubert's song “Der Wanderer” is quoted and transformed. The finale is so technically challenging that even Schubert said: “The devil should play this stuff!”
The “Sonata in E flat major, Hob. XVI/52” After the break, JOSEPH HAYDN 1795 wrote for one of the technically and musically best pianists in England. This legacy must be followed by GORU > do justice to make the melodically beautiful and then dark passage, followed by swirling dance motifs, believable.
Then four very short pieces follow: the Etude in F sharp -minor, Op.25, N10by FREDERIC CHOPIN from 1833, a technical “exercise piece” of the highest musical rank; the Picture Etude in F sharp minor, Op.39 N.3, 1917 by SERGEI RACHMANINOV, with the intention of merging tone poetry and technology; the “restless” scale devil's staircase etude, Escalier du Diable, 1995-2001 by GYÖRGY LIGETI, as well as a technically simple but momentarily effective contrast the new music piece “Beneath artificial suns” by Tyrolean RALPH SCHUTTI, which was performed by the As the earth seems to be on the verge of drying out, the sounds are thirsting for “more clay juice”... A currently explosive piece that has been selected by a classical pianist for the second time.
