The Orchestra World Association presents the 48th concert of the series “Stars of Tomorrow in the First District”, a concert series that is already very popular.

In the 48th episode of the series Stars of Tomorrow in the first district we will experience a thoroughly romantic evening with the Russian ALEKSANDR BAKHTOV, who is experienced in solo and chamber music from the Baroque to the music of the 20th century: the much-awarded pianist, who studied with the mdw professor and Star pianist LILYA ZILBERSTEIN puts the finishing touches, plays The SymphonicnEtudes Op. 13 from 1837 by the real German romantic ROBERT SCHUMANN (1810 - 1856), who has here packaged the “pathetic” of a funeral march in different colors and cyclically, as well as the six-part “Moments Musicaux, op. 16” from 1896 “last romantic”, who followed the compositional tradition, while other companions of his time turned to Arnold Schönberg and other paths of tonality: SERGEJ RACHMANINOFF (1873 – 1943).

The Russian composer found his orientation in Chopin’s Etudes as the “Magna Carta of piano playing”. EachMoment Musicalreproduces a musical form characteristic of an earlier musical era. The forms that appear in Rachmaninoff's incarnation are the nocturne, song without words, barcarole, virtuoso etude and theme and variations. RACHMANINOFF, who composed these “musical moments” at the age of 23, embarks on a rollercoaster of emotions: with Longing, insatiable desire, jubilation, strength, triumph - and also dark brooding. (text: Mag. Elfi Oberhuber)

Program:

Robert Schumann (1810 – 1856) - Symphonic Etudes op. 13

Sergej Rachmaninoff (1873 – 1943) - 6 Moments Musicaux op. 16
