About event
The guitar festival September brings the best of the classic guitar world to Prague. It builds on the tradition of the Prague Guitar Forum project - platforms for meeting guitar professionals and students, which has been offering a weekend full of educational activities, workshops and professional discussions since 2019. Guitar September - the concert part of the festival - will bring top guitarists to six exceptional concerts that will light up the autumn Prague. We start with a concert for the parents of the youngest children, which we prepared in cooperation with the Philharmonic. Silvio Schneider plays the Latino style program. The German-Polish Artis Guitar Duo will present its energetic musical telepathy. Štěpán Rak and his son Jan Matěj will celebrate the anniversary with a joint concert. The festival will end with the performance of the Czech guitar orchestra Czego.
Jan Matěj Rak & Štěpán Rak The composer in one person, with the soul of music. Let us recall at least the most important of the last years. The title was awarded by President Václav Havel. In 2001, the world's first guitarist in the world was invited to a solo performance at the famous Moscow Conservatory of P.I.Cajkovský. The concert response, attended by the top of Russian musical life, was quite extraordinary and resulted in another invitation. In the same year, he and Alfred Strejček in Mexico performed with a concert project to honor J.A. Comenius Vivat Comenius. It was the fourth joint tour of these artists on the American continent. To the seventy -seven countries he had visited with his guitar until then, Japan was added this year. In 2003, a common book by Jaroslava Urbanová and Štěpán Raka guitar, my love. It is devoted to a large personality, the founder of the Czech guitar school, Professor Štěpán Urban. At the Beijing Theater, the praise of tea was dazzled by his concert. In March 2004, he is a guest of the International Guitar Festival of the World Champions, which took place in California, USA, where Rakova's feature suite for solo guitar met with a great response. During 2005, he and his guitar visited many countries and many places of our republic as part of his jubilee celebrations. This guitar has quite exceptional resonant properties that Štěpán Rak uses in his project of guitarotherapy. An important moment was the performance 4.11. 2007 in Florence in the Uffizi Gallery, where together with Alfred Uncle carried out a Comenius general meeting before the painting of Comenius since Rembrandt. In December, the selection of the work of the Comenius General meeting on the remedy of human affairs, which both artists christened. Štěpán Rak is a person who will conquer his listeners with the intensity of the experience, an interpretation championship and the absolute merging of the artist and composer in one person, with the soul of music. After his father, composer and guitar virtuoso Štěpán Rak inherited musical talents and also set out on the musician. Although he started studying classic guitars, he finally chose a way in a different, distinctive direction. Later he began to assert himself as a songwriter and, thanks to his colorful and harmoniously rich game, became a sought -after accompanying and instrumentalist. In distinctive modifications and interpretation of the Jewish songs of Central and Eastern Europe, he continued after the collapse of the group in the duo Marion with actress and singer Monika Žáková, with whom they achieved many successes, again on foreign stages (opening concert of the International Jewish Culture Festival in Dresden, etc.). In addition, Jan-Matěj Cancer also worked in the World-Music group Natalika in the Brno cellist Natalie Welshmídová. As an author of music and instrumentalist - in addition to the guitar, he also plays an accordion and balalajka - has participated in a number of radio and television programs and productions (eg the twelve -part program of the Czech Republic České Budějovice "with guitar around the world", "captain's daughter" for the Czech Republic or "adventure under bed"). He also performs or cooperates with many important artists and institutions (Alfred Strejček, Jitka Molavcová, Lyra Pragensis, International School of Music and Fine Arts, etc.). (Awarding the awards of the Ministry of Culture, Fair Play Awards, etc.).
